Senior Naval Architect

This Senior Naval Architect works on diverse projects within the maritime industry. Whether it is an offshore, ship or submarine project, they are all important, and they all make an impact. Each project has their own challenges, and all will be faced in (multidisciplinary) teams of 18 naval architects. Depending on the project, this role might include to lead a smaller Naval-team of 2 to 4 engineers.
Your work includes
- Translating technical requirements into smart and feasible maritime designs;
- Taking responsibility for the concept and basic design of various projects;
- Performing stability,- resistance and propulsion-, weight control-, and motion analysis calculations;
- Advising worldwide clients on technical decisions;
- Mentoring and guiding junior naval architects within the team;
- Ensuring knowledge retention and sharing this within the Naval Architecture team;
- Collaborating on a daily basis with specialists from other disciplines;
- Contributing to the conception of integrated solutions for complex maritime challenges;
- The possibility to lead small teams of two or four engineers, based on the sort of project;
- The possibility to act as a senior expert in multidisciplinary project teams, based on the sort of project.
As the senior navel architect
- You have a bachelor's or a master's degree in Maritime Engineering, Naval Architecture or a similar field;
- You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in naval architecture and shipbuilding calculations;
- You have strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently and in teams;
- You have experience with NAPA, Hydrostar, Ansys Aqwa;
- Having experience with Phyton or Matlab is a plus;
- You are fluent in the English language, both written and spoken;
- You are permitted to work in the Netherlands, either by an EU citizenship or a previously granted work-visa.
